Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe theme park, set to make a landing in 2025, is getting a Loews Hotel with “astronomical”-themed amenities and exclusive park perks for guests.
The 500-key Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews-branded property, will be a “Mediterranean-inspired escape” within Celestial Park, which is slated to be the “heart” of Epic Universe with acres of gardens, waterways and strolling paths, according to Universal Orlando Resort.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel will draw inspiration from the “astronomical and mythological” elements that distinguish Celestial Park from other areas of Epic Universe, including celestial patterns, constellations and Mediterranean design touches, the resort detailed in a release.
The property is designed to “blend immersion and relaxation,” featuring “tranquil sleeping accommodations and entertaining amenities,” according to Universal Orlando.
One distinctive part of the hotel will be the “How to Train Your Dragon” kids’ suites, colorful rooms designed with signature elements from the Universal Pictures movie.
The hotel will also include a pool, a fitness center, a game room and several food and beverage concepts, including Bar Helios, a rooftop lounge. On-site restaurants will include Flora Taverna, with Mediterranean comfort foods; Lotus Lagoon, a poolside bar and grill; and grab-and-go coffee and food shop Aurora Market.
Off of the hotel’s lobby, there will be a dedicated guest entrance to Epic Universe — a first for Universal Orlando, which has a portfolio of 11 hotels with some 11,000 guest rooms.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel, deemed “the crown jewel of Epic Universe and the pinnacle of Universal Orlando’s hotel experiences,” is part of Universal Orlando’s reimagined Signature Collection, which will feature hotels with full-service amenities, distinguished service and exceptional dining, the resort noted.
Other hotels within the collection include Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
Loews Hotels & Co and Universal Orlando have a long-term joint venture partnership that began more than 20 years ago.
