Dive Insight:
Andaz Miami Beach will open with a redesigned lobby, guest rooms and suites. The property will also feature two reconceptualized pools, outdoor recreation space and a spa.
Hyatt is bringing in culinary provider José Andrés Group to revamp the property’s dining offerings, which will include an outdoor terrace for the restaurant and a second-level outdoor Andaz Lounge.
Additionally, Andaz Miami Beach will feature 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including ballrooms with ocean views and a pool that can convert to a hard surface for gatherings.
The property marks the first Andaz hotel in Florida, leading the way for “new growth in one of the most visited leisure markets in the world,” according to Hyatt.
The hotel opening is part of Hyatt’s larger expansion in the luxury lifestyle segment. In September, the company added 30 hotels and resorts to its luxury lifestyle pipeline, including Andaz Miami Beach.
Earlier this year, Hyatt opened Thompson Houston as part of its push in the segment.
Miami, particularly, has seen an uptick in luxury hotel development driven by an increase in luxury travel demand globally, local hospitality pros previously told Hotel Dive.
