- Hyatt Hotels and Carmel, Indiana-based Birkla Investment Group will open a Hyatt Centric hotel in downtown Cincinnati, the companies announced Wednesday.
- The 170-room hotel will sit within the AT580 building, a residential mixed-use facility that will be revamped to include hotel rooms and upscale restaurants, according to Tony Birkla, owner of Birkla Investment Group.
- Hyatt Centric Cincinnati marks the brand’s entry into Ohio. Hyatt Global Head of Americas Development Dan Hansen said the company is expanding the brand “in the urban markets that our guests and World of Hyatt members seek most, particularly in vibrant city centers like Cincinnati.”

Hyatt Centric Cincinnati’s guest rooms will feature “modern, timeless style” inspired by the city, and the hotel will partner with local artists for “unique touches,” according to the announcement.
The Cincinnati property will be within walking distance of key city attractions and cultural experiences, with Hyatt calling Centric hotels “a launchpad for savvy travelers to explore all that a destination has to offer.”
In a statement, Birkla called the project a “cornerstone of downtown Cincinnati.”
“This development blends the building’s rich history with modern luxury, offering a dynamic space that caters to both residents and visitors,” Birkla said.
In the third quarter of 2024, Hyatt expanded its Centric brand in California, opening the Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica.
In Q4, Hyatt sold the Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville in Tennessee as part of its ongoing asset-disposition strategy, but continued to maintain a long-term management agreement for the property, CEO Mark Hoplamazian said on an earnings call.
In January, Marriott International announced plans to debut its W Hotels brand in Ohio with a forthcoming property in Cleveland.
