After 30 years, new blood has taken over the helm of hospitality operating and consulting company Hospitality America.
The organization has transitioned company veteran Ben Campbell to president and CEO. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Campbell has succeeded founder Chris Cargen, who left the role after a 30-year tenure.
Campbell stepped into the CEO role from his previous position as Hospitality America’s chief operating officer. The 36-year-old first joined Hospitality America in 2015, as director of sales, then held multiple general manager positions until he was promoted to regional director of operations and, most recently, COO.
In his new role, Campbell is tasked with overseeing the continued execution of the company’s strategy — and he already has several ideas to bolster growth.
Campbell plans to expand the company’s portfolio from 17 hotels to 40 hotels in less than 10 years, particularly with more lifestyle and full-service brands, according to a release. He also wants to invest in tools and technologies to improve efficiencies and optimize profitability.
“Ben’s journey to the CEO is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the hospitality industry. His experience at every level of the organization has positioned him to lead Hospitality America’s next chapter,” his predecessor, Cargen, said in a statement.
Cargen will now assume a newly created position leading the company’s newly formed board of directors as chairman.
