Dive Insight:
First Hospitality will manage the 130-room Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu, which opened its doors earlier this month. The property is the third hotel to open under Hilton’s recently launched lifestyle brand.
The Chicago-based hotel management company will also manage two Tapestry Collection by Hilton properties set to open later this year: Hotel Ardent in Dayton, Ohio, and the boutique Lively Hotel at the mixed-use OAK community in Oklahoma City.
First Hospitality will manage the three properties’ on-site restaurants.
“It’s exciting to see the growth of lifestyle developments in both our hotel and restaurant portfolios, especially in new markets,” First Hospitality CEO David Duncan said in a statement.
With the management contracts, First Hospitality brings its number of lifestyle properties to more than 25, the company said, accounting for some 35% of its 70-hotel management portfolio. According to Duncan, the company plans to “continue to expand in lifestyle accommodations.”
First Hospitality is among others expanding in the segment, including Highgate, which earlier this year added lifestyle hotels The Joule in Dallas, Le Meridien Central Park in New York City, the redevelopment of the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia and the Amrit Ocean Resort in Singer Island, Florida, to its portfolio.
And last fall, Crescent Hotels & Resorts assumed management of Le Merigot Santa Monica, growing its lifestyle portfolio.
