Choice Hotels International expanded its Cambria brand to Georgia with the opening of the Cambria Hotel Savannah Downtown Historic District. The space, comprising 101 rooms, was developed by Georgia-based HOS Management Group.
The six-story hotel offers a variety of guest rooms designed to reflect Savannah’s National Historic Landmark District. It also features multipurpose indoor and outdoor spaces, including a lobby bar; on-site dining options; meeting and event spaces; and a fitness center.
The property is located near 100 restaurants and notable Savannah landmarks, including the Savannah Civic Center, the SCAD Museum and Forsyth Park, as well as several top area employers like Georgia Ports Authority, Gulfstream, Hunter Army Airfield, St. Joseph's Hospital and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System's North American headquarters.
“Known for its hospitality, innovative history, and vibrant culture, Savannah is a corporate, entertainment and industrial hub,” Janis Cannon, senior vice president of Upscale brands at Choice Hotels, said in a press release. “At Cambria Hotels, our expansion stays focused on growth in markets with strong business and leisure demand. This makes Savannah the ideal spot to debut the Peach State's first Cambria.”
The new hotel is one of more than 65 Cambria locations in the U.S., including in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans and Phoenix. More than 70 additional Cambria properties are in the pipeline, according to Choice Hotels.
Private equity management firm Peachtree Hotel Group will manage the new Savannah location. The firm manages dozens of hotel properties across the county, including other Choice Hotels properties and those of Marriott, Best Western and Radisson.
