An MGM Resorts International Las Vegas hotel is getting a significant refresh.
All 819 guest rooms and 104 suites at Bellagio Resort & Casino’s Spa Tower are being redesigned. The $110 million project is expected to be completed by fall, with the first collection of improved rooms becoming available in July.
MGM Resorts International Design Group, along with New York City-based interior design atelier Champalimaud Design, will work on the suite improvements across various room types, including the 850-square-foot salon suites, 1,500-square-foot penthouses, 2,500-square-foot executive hospitality suites and the one- and two-bedroom Bellagio suites. Inspired by Northern Italy, the upgraded suites will feature new design elements, custom furnishings and artwork.
“We wanted to create a residential aesthetic with the timeless sense of luxury that is uniquely Bellagio,” Winston Kong, partner at Champalimaud Design, said in a press release. “We found inspiration in the colors of Lake Como's surrounding flora and the classical style of the building's architecture.”
Chicago-based interior design firm The Gettys Group will handle the Spa Tower guest room makeovers. The redesigned rooms will feature new color palettes and design elements, including marble floors, custom furnishings and new soaking tubs and showers.
The Spa Tower project sits on the heels of another major change at Bellagio — the redesign of the approximately 2,500 guest rooms in the resort’s main tower, a project led by The Gettys Group in 2021. A redesign of the 400 main tower suites — another collaboration with Champalimaud Design — is scheduled to kick off in 2024.
Bellagio has a total of 3,933 guest rooms with 510 suites and features five outdoor pools and more than 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention facilities.
MGM Resorts International also is working on a $55 million redesign of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s Water Club in Atlantic City, New Jersey, though the brand declined to comment on whether a larger overhaul of its properties is underway.
