Luxury hotel brand Auberge Resorts Collection tapped former Four Seasons Global President Christian Clerc as its new CEO.
Clerc takes over the top spot at Auberge Resorts Collection with years of luxury hospitality experience at his back. From 2016 to 2022, Clerc managed the global operations of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, overseeing the brand’s then-127 hotels, 51 residential properties and more than 50 properties under development.
Before that, Clerc served as Four Seasons President, EMEA, overseeing the company’s operations in the region. He also previously led Hotel George V in Paris and held various general manager and regional vice president positions throughout the Americas.
Since his departure from Four Seasons, Clerc has advised on global luxury development projects and served on the board of Maryland-based Artemis RE Partners.
“Christian is a dynamic and admired leader in the hospitality industry. His proven approach to luxury customer experiences synergizes perfectly with our vision for Auberge, as we continue to build our highly sought after brand,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman and CEO of The Friedkin Group and chairman of Auberge Resorts Collection, in a statement.
Effective Sept. 1, Clerc will succeed Craig Reid, who is retiring after 10 years at the helm of Auberge Resorts Collection.
The leadership change comes a few months after Auberge Resorts Collection announced portfolio growth plans bolstered by a minority stake investment from merchant bank BDT & MSD.
In February, the bank announced it would invest “significant capital” to acquire and develop luxury hotel and residential assets branded and managed by Auberge Resorts Collection, particularly in “gateway urban markets and high-profile experiential destinations.”
Auberge Resorts Collection plans to expand to several U.S. markets through 2027, including San Francisco, Dallas and Miami Beach, Florida, according to its website. In 2023, the brand opened Bowie House in burgeoning Fort Worth, Texas.
